Based on the above photo, you may think that taking janky, unaligned, unbalanced photos is one of my favorite things. Now that I think about it, it actually kind of is. I love taking pictures even though I am not great at it. There’s a level of peace in being ok with not being great at stuff – OR – walking through life with a level of confident oblivion in skills that you don’t actually have. Whatever works!
Anywhoooozle…
I am not sure how this topic of conversation came up but we were tasked with naming 10 of our own favorite things. Little things that make life worth living. It’s a bit of an inspired exercise with everything going on right now. Being a human can be downright depressing at times; therefore, it’s important to hold onto or seek out those incremental moments of every day happiness (beyond of the big ones of seeing people you love, etc.).
While I am always adding to list, here are a few that came to mind:
- Hearing new amazing music, seeing new art, tasing something wonderful for the first time, i.e. new pleasurable sensory experiences
- The library
- Picnics at the Hollywood Bowl
- Wine with Japanese food
- Not Driving
- Getting a visit from Neighbor Cat
- Walking around the Heath Ceramics store
- Aesop Eidesis
- Putting out proper silverware & glassware for a sit down meal at home
- Waking up from dreams I had in French or Japanese
There are more, of course, but these rose to the top quickly.
If you see me or are connected with me somehow, feel free to share little things you love too. I wish I could turn the comments on here but I’m getting crushed by HO-bots and weird crypto posts in the comments, which are better than shitposts but not that much better.
